My Story

Where this work comes from.

The reason I pursued the field of mental health goes back to my own childhood, when my family moved from Italy to the US. The transition was very challenging — I remember feeling very alone and confused, wishing that someone could have helped me navigate it. This was a formative experience that made me grow up faster than some of my peers, and that made me more empathic and sensitive to other people’s feelings. It engendered the desire to help others through difficult experiences and to bring them hope and comfort.

Having struggled with my own anxiety and coming from a long line of anxious people has also inspired me to specialize in anxiety and related disorders. As an undergraduate I studied Romance Languages, Literature, and Political Science — and it wasn’t until graduate school that I decided to become a therapist. I worked as an academic advisor while pursuing my graduate degree at NYU, where I also earned my BA, and volunteered as a peer advisor in the Office of International Students.

In graduate school I obtained a strong background in psychodynamic therapy, and upon graduation went on to specialize in CBT, REBT, and ERP, completing intensive trainings in Adolescent Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT. I am a Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional and I also specialize in the treatment of OCD. I conduct sessions in English, Spanish, and Italian.

What You Can Expect

The Core Pillars of My Practice

In my work, I move away from rigid, “one-size-fits-all” clinical protocols. Instead, I ground my practice in four core values that guide how we navigate your journey together.

01

Purpose Over Certainty

Anxiety and OCD demand answers that life cannot always provide. We will work to shift your focus from the impossible search for certainty to the meaningful pursuit of purpose. By identifying your core values, we create a “True North” that keeps you moving forward, even when the path ahead is unclear.

02

Skillful Willingness

True change requires the courage to let life unfold without trying to control every outcome. Using the tools of ACT and ERP, I help you cultivate willingness — the ability to sit with discomfort and “noise” while remaining committed to the actions that matter most to you.

03

Evidence-Based Depth

I believe in using methods that work — including CBT, ERP, and ACT. However, I use these tools as a flexible framework to be integrated with your unique worldview, never as a rigid script to be followed.

04

Intellectual Curiosity

The “Examined Life” is at the heart of my approach. I encourage my clients to be curious about their minds. We don’t just look at what you are thinking — we look at how you think and how internalizing a new philosophy of self can lead to lasting freedom from fear and anxiety.

My Approach

This is not generic therapy.

I specialize in treating adults navigating the complexities of anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. My approach is rooted in evidence-based care — using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). However, I am a firm believer that these tools should never feel rigid or robotic, which is why I tailor interventions to the needs of each and every client.

Anxiety and OCD thrive on “noise” — the persistent, loud demands for certainty and control. My work is to help you hear your own voice above that noise. We will work together to build the navigational skills necessary to face life’s risks and challenges without deviating from what truly matters to you.

My approach is to establish a partnership with my clients and together use evidence-based approaches, while allowing the space for personal growth and exploration to unfold naturally. My goal is to provide a space for reflection, exploration, and practical action.

Outside the Office

Beyond the Work

I have a passion for literature and love reading in my spare time — I often integrate wisdom from literature into therapy. I also love baking, traveling, taking long walks and being in nature. I enjoy moments of quiet solitude and deep reflection, and I cherish spending time with family.
